Terms of Service
The terms and conditions governing your use of Applora.
Last updated: July 26, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Applora (the "Service"), operated by Applora ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. What Applora Is
Applora is a market intelligence tool for Shopify app builders. We track the Shopify App Store daily — apps, categories, keywords, reviews, and stores — and surface that data through a dashboard, a public directory of apps/categories/keywords/developers/stores, and an MCP server for connecting your own AI tools.
Applora is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Shopify Inc. "Shopify" is a trademark of Shopify Inc.
2. Accounts
You sign in to Applora via Google OAuth. You're responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that happens under it. You must provide accurate information and notify us if you believe your account has been compromised.
You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Profile, which removes your account and associated per-user data (watchlist, preferences).
3. Plans, Billing, and Cancellation
Applora offers a Free plan (limited access to our research modules) and a paid Pro plan, billed monthly through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time from Settings → Billing, which opens Stripe's billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — no partial refunds for the remainder of a period you've already paid for.
- We're happy to issue a full refund as long as you haven't exported data (CSV) or connected the MCP server during that billing period. Once you've pulled data out of Applora, we're no longer able to refund that subscription period.
- We may change plan pricing or features going forward; we'll do our best to give existing subscribers notice before a price change takes effect on their next billing cycle.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to violate any applicable law or third party's rights.
- Attempt to circumvent rate limits, paywalls, or access controls on our API or MCP server.
- Scrape, bulk-export, or republish Applora's aggregated data as a competing dataset or product.
- Share your account or API/MCP credentials with anyone outside your own organization.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service, including probing, scanning, or testing its vulnerability without our prior written permission.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
5. Shopify App Store Data and Independent Reports
The app, developer, keyword, category, and store data shown in Applora is aggregated from publicly available information on the Shopify App Store (listings, public reviews, and similar public sources). We make reasonable efforts to keep this data accurate and up to date via our own daily crawl, but we don't guarantee its completeness, accuracy, or timeliness, and it shouldn't be your sole basis for a business decision.
All Applora reports, statistics, rankings, and market signals are independent third-party analyses produced by Applora AI. They are not official Shopify publications and are not reviewed, approved, or endorsed by Shopify Inc. Figures may differ from other sources or from Shopify's own figures because of collection timing, source availability, classification choices, estimation, and other methodological factors.
You are responsible for evaluating the data and any decisions made from it. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Applora AI disclaims liability for losses, damages, missed opportunities, or other consequences arising from reliance on these reports, statistics, rankings, or signals.
If you're a store owner, developer, or reviewer whose public information appears in Applora and you have a concern about it, contact us at the email below.
6. MCP Server and API Access
Pro subscribers can connect Applora's MCP server to third-party AI tools (e.g. Claude, Cursor) via OAuth. Access granted to a connected AI tool is scoped to reading Applora's market data on your behalf — you're responsible for what you authorize and for revoking access (via your AI tool's settings) if you no longer want a client connected. Use of the MCP server is subject to the same Acceptable Use terms above.
7. Intellectual Property
The Service, including our software, design, and the compiled/aggregated datasets we produce (as distinct from the underlying public facts they're built from), is owned by us and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for your own research and business purposes — not to resell or redistribute it in bulk.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service, including all market data, rankings, and signals, is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We don't warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that our data is complete or accurate.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenue, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service — including decisions made based on Applora's market data.
10. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, with notice where reasonably possible.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you by email or an in-app notice before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
